Kenneth B. George Sr., 86, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing.
He was born May 3, 1922 in Beloit, WI, the son of William and Emily Hamborg George. Kenneth attended Beloit High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Kenneth married Patricia Dauer on August 24, 1946 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on June 16, 1978. He later married Evelyn Teschner Ryytty on April 4, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV.
Kenneth was employed by Warner Electric & Brake Company, retiring on May 3, 1984. He was a member of the Warner Electric Quarter Century Club, South Beloit Businessmen’s Association, American Legion Post #332, V.F.W. Post #2306, Loyal order of the Moose Lodge #191 and Beloit Eagles Club Aerie #557. Kenneth was inducted into the Beloit Bowling Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn George of Beloit, WI; two sons, Jeffery (Lorraine) George of Austin, TX and Kenneth W. (Lori) George Jr. of Beloit, WI; three step children, Dan Ryytty of South Beloit, IL, Tom Ryytty of Alliance, NB and Susan Ryytty of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, John George of Los Angeles, CA and Jessica George of Minneapolis, MN, Peter (Anna) George of Madison, WI, Eric (Nicole) George of Madison, WI, Tory (Margaret) George of Janesville, WI, and Erin Ryytty of Beloit, WI; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing and Dr. Kenneth Gold for the care that they gave to Ken.
He was predeceased by his parents, four sisters, Violet Amundsen, Eleanor Kluck, Frances Castel and Nellie Chickering, six brothers, Harold, Harvey, Howard, Walter, Russell and Art George.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Ian Stirrat officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home with a Loyal Order of the Moose Service at 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Genesis Wing of Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing
