Martha R. Schroeder, 66, of Beloit, WI, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born December 29, 1942 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Fred L. and Irene C. Cannon Fleck. Martha was a 1961 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School. She married Leslie “Les” Schroeder on June 2, 1962 in St. Jude Catholic Church.
Martha was an active volunteer at Robinson School. She was also a caregiver to her elderly friends and neighbors. Martha was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Les Schroeder of Beloit, WI; two daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Goode and Karen (Jim) Roeling both of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Teri (fiancé, Brett Schultz) Goode of Milwaukee, WI and Kate Goode of Beloit, WI, Shawn Miller and Scott Miller both of Beloit, WI; brothers, Fred (Cindy) Fleck of Janesville, WI and Jim (Mary) Fleck of Clinton, WI; sisters, Doris Saladino of Beloit,WI, Pat (Larry) Hanson of Sheboygan, WI, Mary Kaye (Dennis) Lasher of Roscoe, IL and Carrie Morelock of Beloit, WI; sisters-in-law, Peggy Fleck of Delevan, WI and Randy Fleck of Beloit, WI; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Leo, Larry and Bill Fleck, sister, Mary Jo and nephew, Jeff Fleck and Tommy Saladino.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with a Scripture service at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice.
