Obituary:
Harriet L. Arnold, 90, of Beloit, WI died Friday, May 1, 2009 in her home. She was born October 6, 1918 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of Edward and Elsie Ladewig Hillyer. Harriet married George F. Arnold on October 26, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. He predeceased her on September 26, 1973. Harriet was employed by Freeman Shoe for many years. She was a member of Grinnell Hall Senior Center since May 15, 1985. She was also a 25 year member of the Beloit Eagle’s Club Aerie 557 and a 32 year member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter #56. Survivors include her four children, Helene Paravala of Rockford, IL, Allen G. (Susan) Arnold of Beloit, WI, Lanaya (Vic) Vasquez of Rockford, IL, and Dawneen (Mark) Weis of Janesville, WI; 11 grandchildren, LaRene (Steve) Blunt of Monroe, WI, Amy Paravala of Rockford, IL, Jay (Sandy) Paravala of CO, Brett (Brandi) Arnold, Bart (Rachel) Arnold, Bethany Arnold, and Blair Arnold all of Beloit, WI, Sonia Vasquez of Rockford, IL, Cynthia Vasquez of Rockford, IL, Jaclyn Weis and Donald Weis both of Janesville, WI; great grandchildren, Shanon Blunt, Heather Blunt, Trevon Walker, Debriana Walker, Tayleana Walker, Garret Paravala, Dylan Paravala, Cody Paravala, Alejandro Medrano, Alysea Medrano, Estrella Medrano, Sadie Hackett, Tianna Mielke, Delaney Arnold, Presleigh Arnold, and Kayne Bates; great great grandchild, Kayda Sargent; sisters, Margie Schoonmaker and , Norma Potter Olin; special friends, Bonnie Hutchinson, Howard (Barb) Pelkey of Plymouth, MI, Bob (Marcie) Marsh of Osprey, FL, Tom Gunn and Jan Tews. The family would like to thank the Mercy Hospital staff, Mercy Hospice Care Inc. staff and Mary Froiland from Luther Valley Church. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Pastor Mary Froiland officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home.
