Geraldine K. Bilbrey, 72, of Beloit, WI died Sunday, May 10, 2009 in the Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 7, 1937 in Newman Grove, NE, the daughter of Howard and Nellie McElhoes Farage. Geraldine was a graduate of Hononegah High School, Rockton, IL. She married Russell Vassar in January of 1956 in Dubuq ue, IA. She later married Coy Bilbrey on August 4, 1974 in Reno, NV. He predeceased her in November of 1992.
Geraldine was employed by Freeman Shoe Company and several restaurants before becoming disabled in 1974. She resided at Beloit Health and Rehabilitation for seven years. Geraldine liked to crochet and was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Mike) Beckington of Beloit, WI; four grandchildren, Carrie (Clay) Tillet of Beloit, WI, Gerald Chenoweth II of Beloit, WI, Amanda Overstreet of Beloit, WI, John (Nicole Hansen) Chenoweth of Beloit, WI, Beth and Vic Streich of Brodhead, WI; ten great grandchildren, Chaz, Brandon, Kimberly, Justin, D’Angelo, Clifford, Johnny, Hunter, Brayden and Tyler; two great great grandchildren, Chaz and Azariah; special niece and nephew, Roxane (Steve) Brown and Steve (Theresa) Farage.
She was predeceased by her parents, one son, Ricky Vassar, brother, Lawrence Farage, and sister, Betty Scheffler.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, South Beloit, IL, with Pastor David Fogerud officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
