Alfred G. Cox, 83, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 7, 1925 in Walworth, WI, the son of Alfred G. and Lillian Siebel Cox. Alfred attended Kenosha Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Alfred married Esther Heritage on June 28, 1953 in Beloit, WI.
Alfred was employed by Beloit Corporation, retiring on August 1, 1987. He was a member of the Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club and River of Life United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and played on the dart league.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Esther Cox of Beloit, WI; two sons, Gary (Julie) Cox of Brodhead, WI, and A. Michael (Paige) Cox of Roscoe, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Kattie Rowsey) Cox, Christopher (Nikki) Cox, Kara Cox, Sarah Cox, Shane Reavis and Danielle Hall; six great grandchildren; brother, Gilbert (Patricia) Cox of Georgetown, S.C.; three sisters, Lola Russell of South Beloit, IL, Shirley Bennett of Beloit, WI, and Linda (Richard) Thompson of Janesville, WI; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and three sisters.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Dr. Forrest Clark officiating. Inurnment will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL, with Military Rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in Alfred’s name to the River of Life United Methodist Church.
