Obituary:
Helen May Coakley, 84, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born November 25, 1924 in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of Rowe J. and Nellie M. Harlow Stevens. Helen was a 1942 graduate of Portsmouth High School. She married Charles J. Coakley on July 6, 1950 in Portsmouth, NH. He predeceased her on January 15, 1997. Helen was employed by Pepsi-Cola Inc. for 18 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Daystar Christian Fellowship, South Beloit, IL. Helen was also a member of Rebecca’s Lodge #126, Beloit Federation of Women, and the Phoenix Chapter #215 Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her two daughters, Helena R. (Charlie) McGahee of Jacksonville, FL and Debra J. Coakley of Beloit, WI; two sons, Charles R. (Coleen) Coakley of South Beloit, IL and Steven J. (Karen) Coakley of Rock, CO; seven grandchildren, Deana Coakley of Janesville, WI, Iris Coakley of Beloit, WI, Laura (Derrick) Whelchel of Roscoe, IL, Richard Coakley of Castle Berry, FL, Elizabeth (Donnie) Hester of Palm Desert, CA, Lukas (Katie) Fowler of Kingman, AZ, and Sherrie (Jason) Ottinger of Fort Hood, TX; fourteen great grandchildren, Erin, Evyan, Tayler, and Jaylon Whelchel, Justin, Chadt and Shealyn Hester, Daniel Fowler, Megan and Kalyn Ottinger, Cody Coakley, Sierra and Taylor Ostenson, and Linzey Brown; sister, Rowene (Wilbert) Orff of Waldoboro, ME; one uncle; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Rowe Stevens. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Pastor Philip Allen officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
