Obituary:
David T. Fairbank, 56, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, October 12, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI. He was born January 13, 1953 at Ellsworth Airforce Base, South Dakota, the son of William and Vivian Bowers Fairbank. David graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He married Paula Gourley on May 10, 1977 in the Provo LDS Temple in Provo, UT. David was self employed as a Computer Consultant. He was a member of the Beloit Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he taught ages three thru twelve and was a Scout Master and Den Leader for Troop #656. David served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Sacramento Mission. David loved to sing! He sang for performances with the Beloit and Janesville Symphony Orchestra through the Masterworks Chorus at Beloit College for 25 years and enjoyed singing in the Ward Choir. He went fishing with anyone who wanted to go. David collected comic strips and followed fifty television shows. Monk and House were his favorites. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Paula Fairbank of Beloit, WI; four children, Laura Fairbank of Wauwatosa, WI, Lisa Lewis of Madison, WI, Adrienne (Phil) Clegg of Ogden, UT, and Timothy Fairbank of LaCrosse, WI; two grandchildren, Andrea Fairbank and Avery Clegg; three sisters, Susan (Dan) Whitted of Lincoln, NE, Willa (John) Hansen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Nancy (Steve) Novak of Decatur, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Fairbank, and son-in-law, Jeremy Lewis. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 in the Beloit Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2535 Austin Pl., Beloit, WI with Mike Moncur, a member of the bishopric, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
