Doris M. Borden, 82, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Sun Valley East.
She was born March 6, 1927 in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Charlotte (Nichols) Glos. She moved to Beloit in the 1930’s and was a 1945 graduate of Beloit High School. Doris was also a graduate of Minneapolis and Western Union School in Milwaukee receiving her Radio and Electronics Television degree. Doris married Eleo J. Borden on July 16, 1949 in St. Thomas Catholic Church. He predeceased her on January 5, 2007.
After being a receptionist and secretary for WBNB in Beloit she was promoted to broadcasting. Doris then went on to work for Beloit Corporation as a secretary, Beloit State Bank and retired from Beloit Computer Data Processing. Mom quotes “I have worked many different jobs during my life. I figured variety is a spice of life.” She loved to read Mystery stories, watch musical films, fishing, swimming, and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Doris was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed, loved dearly, and is now in the hands of God.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Laurie) Borden of Clinton, WI and Peter Borden of Beloit, WI; one grandson, Nicholas (fiancé, Cassie) Borden of Beloit, WI; one great granddaughter, Allyie Borden of Beloit, WI; one step-grandson, Allen Daskum and family of Milton, WI; two sisters, Joan White and Charlotte Rudolph both of Beloit, WI.
She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Stanley and George Glos.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
