Obituary:
Betty Brusberg, 85, died Monday, February 8, 2010, in North Pointe Terrace Assisted Living. She was born March 16, 1924 in Whiting, IN, the daughter of Luther T. and Lily Pugh Garey. Betty was a graduate of the Northwestern Nursing School. She married Jack L. Brusberg on May 22, 1948 in Whiting, IN. Betty was a member of the First Congregational Church in Beloit, WI where she belonged to the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Art League, Beloit and Janesville Symphony, Cotere Club, Fort Nightly Club and several sewing clubs. Betty volunteered for the Beloit Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and the Winnebago County Polls. Betty was the founder of the Library at North Pointe Terrace in Roscoe, IL. She loved her grandchildren dearly. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jack Brusberg; three children, Garey (Beth) Brusberg of Beloit, WI, Gail (Pres) Brusberg-West of Evanston, IL, and Greg (Som) Brusberg of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Brusberg, Mark (Laura Saxe) Brusberg, Kerry, Laura, and Scott (Sara Bell) West, Pattraporn and Luther Brusberg; and numerous friends. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice and all the staff at North Pointe Terrace. She was predeceased by her parents. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the First Congregational Church, 801 Bushnell St., Beloit, WI with Reverend Kendall Nordstrom officiating. Inurnment will be in The Chapel of Joseph of Arimathea Columbarium at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Beloit, WI. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service in the church. In lieu of flowers, Betty would prefer memorials be given in her name to the First Congregational Women’s Guild or Heartland Hospice.
