Obituary:
Clotea B. Moore, 86, of Beloit, WI, transitioned Tuesday evening, February 9, 2010 in Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 12, 1923 in Atoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Simon and Fannie (Cameron) Baskin. Clotea was a graduate of Beloit High School and attended Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, William S. Moore in 1954 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on May 29th, 2001. Prior to her marriage, during World War II, she worked as a secretary in the Quartermaster’s office at Great Lakes Naval Base. She also worked as a Dietitian at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. Later in life, she gave care to both young and old, and was a devoted and well-respected live-in caregiver for the elderly of several families in the Beloit area. She loved to cook and attend family functions, and was especially fond of spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She had a kind heart, and always stood ready to help those in need without a question. Clotea was a member of Wesley CME Church where she was a member of the Missionary Society, and was an Emeritus member of the Stewardess Board. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Boyd of Beloit, Wisconsin, Son William S. Moore IV of Beloit, WI; daughter, Valerie Moore of Beloit, WI; and grandchildren, Jaevon, Ambra, Alexis, and Asia. She also is survived by a special niece, Michelle Hill, who nurtured her during her illness, and a host of other nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who encountered her. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter A'dai. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to all of the nurses of the Critical Care Unit of Beloit Memorial Hospital, especially Denise, Cosette, and Stacy, and to Beloit Regional Hospice. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Also a special thanks to Dr. Radak and Brooke at Beloit Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room and to Seniors First of Dolton, Illinois.
