Catherine I. Belvedere, 85, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, February 19, 2010 in her daughter’s home in Santa Rosa, CA.
She was born August 7, 1924 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas P. and Elizabeth J. McGuinn Donnelly. Catherine married Albert J. Belvedere on September 20, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He predeceased her on November 21, 1988.
Catherine was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. She enjoyed spending time and traveling to be with her family. Catherine also enjoyed cooking, reading, playing gin rummy and 31 with her family, and was an avid golf tournament enthusiast.
Survivors include her two daughters, Virginia (Brad) Reid of Santa Rosa, CA and Nancy (Roady) Champion of Beloit, WI; four grandsons, Michael (Debbie) Reid, Gregory Reid, Brian (Abbie) Roche, and Christopher (Adrienne) Roche; five great grandchildren, Dylan Reid, Gavin Reid, Colin Roche, Samantha Catherine Roche, Tyler Belvedere Roche, and another granddaughter expected to arrive on April 5th; two sisters, Eleanor Steinle of Chicago, IL and Elizabeth Mount of Cordova, TN; brother, James Donnelly of Corbett, OR.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Thomas Donnelly.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd., Beloit, WI with Father Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the church.
