George C. Fago, Jr., 66, of Rockton, IL passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 8, 1943 in Beaver Dam, WI, the son of George and Rose Schmidt Fago. George was a graduate of South Beloit High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. George married Janice Hoffman on December 6, 1969 in Beloit, WI.
George was employed by Sundstrand Corporation, Twin Disc, Patterson Gear and retired in 2008 from Makerite Manufacturing, Roscoe, IL. He was a member of the Rockton American Legion Post #332. George loved golfing, grilling, and socializing with his family and friends. He was very excited about his new little grandson. George also enjoyed history and sports, especially the Green Bay Packers.
George was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janice Fago of Rockton, IL; son, Darren (J. Melissa) Fago of Westchester, IL; daughter, Debra (Erik) Anderson of Poynette, WI; grandson, Miles Fago; two brothers, Daniel (Christine) Fago and Richard (Kathy) Fago both of South Beloit, IL; three sisters, Mary (Ron) Wight of Loves Park, IL, Margaret (Dudley) Alexander of Necedah, WI, and Joyce Lindaas of Rockton, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Dale, and sister, Gloria.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI with Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
