Thomas C. Stovlbeck, 73, of Beloit, WI, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 in his home.
He was born December 6, 1936 in New Bremen, OH, the son of Peter and Lily Ritter Stovlbeck. Thomas was a graduate of the Ohio State University with a degree in mechanical engineering and was involved with the ROTC. He was a U.S. Navy Fighter Pilot veteran. Thomas married Ferne Gillespie in February of 1972. He later married Rita Eckert on December 30, 1997 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Thomas was employed by Beatrice Foods/Kerry Ingredients for 49 years traveling around the world setting up new locations, retiring in 2004. His biggest pleasure was being on the river in his James Bond Thunderball boat. Thomas loved music, playing the piano, his dogs and vacationing in Florida. He enjoyed water skiing, yard work and being busy around the house. Thomas was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Stovlbeck of Beloit, WI; daughter, Kirsten (Michael) Symmonds of Beloit, WI; step children, Lori (Robert) Redenius and Dan (Sabrina) Eckert both of Janesville, WI; granddaughter, Reagan Watts; step grandchildren, Heather and Nick Redenius, Connor and Justin Eckert; and an aunt, Ruth Ritter of Ohio.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Beloit Regional Hospice.
