Beatrice Quade

November 12, 1932 - January 10, 2022

Beatrice Quade of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the age of 89 at Willowick Assisted Living. We appreciate so much the loving care that was given to Bea by the caregivers from Willowick Assisted Living. They loved her and treated her like she was family. That brought much peace to us knowing how well she was cared for. Also we want to thank Beloit Regional Hospice and Heartland Hospice for their meaningful and considerate care of Bea during her last days. Bea was born on November 12, 1932 in Beloit, WI to Dale and Gladys (Sprague) Thompson. She was a 1950 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. Bea married Fred Quade on May 11, 1951 at Fort Polk in Vernon, LA. They had many wonderful years together. He predeceased her on June 4, 1992. Beatrice was formerly employed by Fairbanks Morse in the accounting department as well as the Wisconsin Visitors Center. She attended Peoples Church for over 40 years where she sang in the choir, played the organ and sang for the weekly radio broadcast. Bea and Fred led the youth group and served in many ways. Bea loved playing Scrabble and enjoyed playing games with friends and relatives. She made every gathering feel special and is remembered for her meals and especially her pies. She spent many hours sewing for her family and passed that skill on to her girls. Music was a big part of her life. She grew up with a family that was very musical and she instilled her love of music into her children. Bea loved the outdoors and nature, gardening, picnicing, traveling and camping trips with family and good friends. Many days in her later years you would find Bea meeting good friends for coffee and then parking by Rock River to read a good book. The grandkids will always remember going to Grandma's, playing hide and seek in her big house and having a grand time with their cousins. Such great memories. But more important than all else is that she shared a strong faith with her family and she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her children: Linda McCormick of Eden Prairie, MN, Phyllis (Stephen) Huckabee of St. Peters, MO and Brenda (Thomas) Uppenkamp of Beloit, WI; grandchildren: Judson (Noelle) McCormick, Carleigh McCormick, Jared (Patricia) Huckabee, Shane (Debra) Huckabee, Stephanie (Scott) Klipsch, Brant Uppenkamp, Justin (Lee) Uppenkamp and Mallory (Torry) Leonard; great grandchildren: Griffin, Walker and Ella McCormick, Broderick Huckabee, Micah and Kaitlyn Huckabee, Carter, Story and Thomas Uppenkamp and Aubree Johnson; sister: Rebecca (Robert) Brunton of Eaton Rapids, MI; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Dale and Gladys Thompson; her husband, Fred Quade; brothers, Billy, Robert, Bruce, and Berwyn Thompson; sisters, Beryl and Bonita Jenkins; and her son-in-law, Fred McCormick. A memorial service for Beatrice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Faith Community Church, 2931 Lucerne Dr., Janesville, WI. The Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time time of service Thursday in the church.
