Bernice Ann “Bea” Muth, 91, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 in her home. She was born on March 23, 1930, the daughter of William and Pearl Cummings. Bea was a graduate of Gays Mills High School. She furthered her education at Platteville and Whitewater Colleges where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She married Frank “Foxman” Muth on August 7, 1950 at St. Phillip’s Church in Soldiers Grove, WI. He predeceased her on January 12, 2004. Bea was formerly employed by the School Districts of Lone Rock, Richland Center and Janesville. While teaching at St. William Catholic School, Janesville, WI, she started the first Pep Band in the Madison Diocese. Bea was the owner and operator of her family restaurant and catering business for many years. She was known for her cooking, cake decorating, and flower arrangements. Bea was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a long-time member of the Moose Family Fraternity, receiving many honors for her many years of dedication, while serving offices on a local, state and international level. Bea was especially proud of her two-year term on the grand council of the Moose International. She was a residential manager of Hillcrest Senior Apartments and managed many adult group homes in Madison with her husband, Frank. Bea’s family was her number one priority. Survivors include her children, Dean (Sue) Muth of Oregon, WI, Dennis (Denise) Muth of Orfordville, WI, David (Mary) Muth of Madison, WI and William (Donna) Muth of Janesville, WI, Diana (Paul) Reed of South Beloit, IL; son-in-law, Leo Sokolik of Janesville; grandchildren, David “Tony” Muth, Heather (Greg) Bartelt, Kristopher (Prue) Muth, Jessika (Dan) Offerdahl, Korey (Becky) Butler, Jamey (Stacy) Butler, Nicole (Danny) Jordan, Casey (Tamsie) Muth, Angela (Juan) Renteria, Andria Olson, Brianna (Drew) Chaves, Jake (Rachel) Muth, Michelle (Preston) O’Neal, Kristina (T.J.) Nichols, Jamie (Tracy) Reed, Cheri (Brian) Peterson, Christy Hoppe, Jessica Szopinski, Jeremy, Daniel and Kyle Cliver; 38 great grandchildren; brother, William (Mary Ellen) Cummings of El Dorado Springs, MO; numerous nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Dawn Sokolik; grandsons, Gregory Muth and Leo Sokolik III and Taylor Olson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Imogene (Art) Ehorn, Eunice (Francis) Acketz and Delores (Charles) Coyle. The family would like to give a thank you to Heartland Hospice and to Dr. Cheryl Miller for the excellent care they gave to mom during her illness. And a special thank you to Jim and Becky Halbach. A Funeral Liturgy for Bea will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd., Beloit, WI with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Entombment will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum, Janesville, WI. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with a Women of the Moose Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation of Remembrance will also be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church or to Moose Charities.
