Gerald Prater, 84, of Beloit, WI, died on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1937 in Ocela, AR, the son of Hildred Davis. Gerald was employed as a supervisor for Concrete Pipe. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar in a band. Survivors include his children, Gerri Sherman, Neal Prater, Brett (Christine) Prater, and Brien Prater; grandchildren, Matt and Jason Sherman, Wade and Amy Prater; siblings, James Prince and Wanda Ingran. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Harold; and wives, Nina Prater (1964) and Elizabeth Prater (2018). A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Floral Lawn Cemetery, 835 Dearborn Ave., South Beloit, IL. Visitation of remembrance will be from 12 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the Floral Lawn Cemetery Chapel. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
