Helen L. Christiansen of Beloit, WI, passed away on Friday February 18, 2022 on her 78th birthday. She was born February 18, 1944 in West Virginia, the daughter of Carus “Bud” and Ellen (Cooper) Messenger. Helen was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She married Keith A. Christiansen on September 17, 1966 in Peoples Church, Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on January 11, 2020. Helen was formerly employed as a waitress at Buffas, Frank & Mikes’ and the City Limits. She then was employed by Swiss Colony for 20 years. She loved bowling on several leagues and was the secretary of the Bowl Air Leagues for many years. She also appeared on the Bowling game tv show. She and Keith, their family, extended family and friends too many to mention enjoyed spending their summers camping at Willow Mill Campsite in Rio, WI for over 40 years. This was a huge part of their lives making many memories. Helen and Keith taught line dancing at Perkins Tavern and the Firecracker Lounge. Survivors include her children, Diane Hughes of Brodhead, WI, Jon Christiansen of Beloit, WI, and Michael Christiansen of Brodhead, WI; grandchildren, Sarah Lynn (Kyle Henning) Christiansen of Beloit, WI, Miranda (Alan) Luckow of Janesville, WI, Austin Hughes of Beloit, WI, Tyler Christiansen, Dillon Christiansen both of South Beloit, IL; brothers, Jim (Lori) Messenger of Rockford, IL, Bob (Kim) Messenger of Beloit, WI, brother-in-law, Ken Steele; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; best friends, Barb McMillan, Donna Shakstad, Maureen Lock, Bill Lock, Steve and Linda Christiansen; other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Daniel Alan Christiansen; sisters, Ann, Dot and Linda. A Celebration of Life and Private graveside service will be held at a later date.
