Phyllis J. Carpenter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Phyllis J. Carpenter, 92, of Beloit, WI, entered eternal life on Friday, August 5, 2022 at The Landings of Kaukauna, Kaukauna, WI. She was born on February 27, 1930 in Belgrade, NE, the daughter of W. Harry and Flossie (Lucas) Rathbun. Phyllis moved to Illinois with her parents in 1943 where she attended Genoa High School. She married Leon Otto Carpenter on February 14, 1954 in Genoa, IL. He predeceased her on July 25, 2014. Phyllis was formerly employed by the Durst Division of Regal Beloit until her retirement in February 1992. She loved playing cards, games on her computer, knitting and crocheting. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the River of Life United Mehtodist Church, past president of United Methodist Women and the financial secretary of New Hope United Methodist Church. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her children, William (Susan) Carpenter of Beloit, WI, and Barbara Davis of Appleton, WI; five granddaughters, Belinda (Matt) Cordina, Audra (Steve) Donaghy Andrea (Ryan) Van Dyn Hoven, Leanne (Jorge) Lemus,and Laura (Logan) Klockner; great grandchildren, Lily and Melanie and Charles Cordina, Logan, Ethan and Tatan Van Dyn Hoven, Addison and Madelyn Donaghy, Olivia, Liam and Landon Klockner, Leonor and Mario Lemus; sister, Vera Nelson of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, infant brother, infant sisters, and two sisters, Thelma McBride and Alma Wood. Funeral Services for Phyllis will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Reverend Tom White officiating. Burial will be in Genoa Township Cemetery Mausoleum, Genoa, IL. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name.
