Richard L. Whitman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard Lee Whitman, 71, of Beloit, WI, died on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in his home. He was born on January 31, 1951 in Dixon, IL, the son of Foster and Arvilla (Hanson) Whitman. Richard was a veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy as an aviation mechanic. Richard was employed as a truck driver for JB Hunt and the DeLong Company. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, especially euchre, tinkering on trucks and cars, music, and playing his guitar. Richard was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include his siblings, Robin (Steve) Sherlund of Beloit, Jeanne (Carl) Carlson of Roscoe, IL, Robert (Cindy) Whitman of Winter Garden, FL, and Charles (Jean) Whitman of Tarpon Springs, FL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents; sister, Carol Whitman; aunts, uncles, and significant other, Judy Heyerdahl. A Visitation of Remembrance will be from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Bear Valley Cemetery, Lone Rock, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard’s name may be made to his family.
