Ronald Schmoldt

June 19, 1941 - April 27, 2022

Ronald Schmoldt, 80, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Fair Oaks Health Care Center. He was born on June 19, 1941 in Monroe, WI, the son of Alfred and Delores (Mishler) Schmoldt. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Barbara Gardiner in 1961 and together they had three children. Ron later married Gail Minnick on August 4, 1992 and they had one son together. Ron was formerly employed by Sonoco for 51 years. He enjoyed fishing at the Rockton Dam, riding motorcycles, traveling and going on trips to Texas. Ron could be found tinkering in the garage or painting someone’s home. He would do anything for anybody and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Survivors include his wife, Gail Schmoldt; children, Lauren Schmoldt of TX, Tracy (Angi) Schmoldt of South Beloit, IL, Tina (Mike) Kuykendall of TX and Christopher (Kelly) Minnick of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Cody Allen and Garrett Schmoldt, Jared and Jenna Kuykendall,, Jayden and Ethan Minnick, Tanner Kramer, Tayler and Traci Malstrom,; great grandchildren, Tally, Tinlee and Aubrie; sister, Linda (Len) Worcester; brother, Daniel (Claire) Ball; brother-in-law, Joseph Minnick; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents; son, Aaron Schmoldt; sisters, Judy Graves and Inez Rollette; and brother, James Schmoldt. A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held at a later date.
