Sandra L. Ruthe

January 2, 1941 - April 12, 2022

Sandra Lou Ruthe, 81, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 after a short battle with cancer at Beloit Memorial Hospital. We were not surprised because when dad died eight months ago on July 31, 2021, we knew she would not be far behind. Sandy married the love of her life, Henry “Butch” Ruthe Jr. at the age of 17 and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Her greatest joy in life were her children, Scott (Brigette) Ruthe, Christy (John) Risch, Dawn Ruthe, Henry (Jan) Ruthe III and Steven Ruthe. Sandy was able to see her legacy of six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Sandy was the oldest of three children (Rodney Ven Rooy and Gary Ven Rooy) who were born to John and Margaret (Houston) Ven Rooy who were Deaf. Being a CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) her first language was American Sign Language. Sandy enjoyed sitting in her kitchen with a cup of coffee watching the birds and other animals in her yard. Per Sandy’s wishes, the family will have a small gathering at the house at a later date. The family have many wonderful memories of going to Deaf Camp at Spencer Lake Christian Center in Waupaca, WI.
