    Sr. Linda Ramirez

    November 15, 1935 - January 18, 2022

    Sr. Linda was born Rosa-Herminda, November 15, 1935 to Ana-Sixta (Martinez) and Antonio Ramirez, in Machetá, Cundinamarca, Colombia, South America. She entered the convent in the early sixties and got her novitiate training in St. Louis, MO, where she was professed on June 4, 1964. In Wisconsin, she served as head cook at Queen of Apostles Seminary until 1974 and at Holy Name Seminary until 1984. From 1985 to 1995, she served at Cristo Rey Seminary and Sacred Heart Retreat House in Gallup, NM. After a short period in Rockford, IL, she went back to Colombia until her return to Beloit in 2015. She is survived by a sister, Teresa and brother, Alcides of Machetá, Colombia; many nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews; and her dear sisters of the Auxiliaries of the Blessed Sacrament. May she rest in God’s peace. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Sr. Linda will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in St. Jude Catholic Church, 737 Hackett St., Beloit, WI. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the church.
